Update: New 2015 Commercial Transport Procedures Manual

May 21st, 2015 - The newest version of BC’s Commercial Transport Procedures Manual is now available from the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement Branch. The new update includes:

Chapter 1: Licensing

  • Added definition of “Power Unit” to the Canadian Agreement on Vehicle Registration and a revised “Cab Card” PDF from ICBC
  • Clarification regarding in-transit permits
  • Updated Passenger Transportation Board contact information

Chapter 2: Motive Fuel – no changes

  • Updated General Holiday schedule
  • Added general travel and contact information from BC Ferries
  • 3.9.4.C, added seasonal overload formula example

Chapter 4: Commodities Guidelines and Permits

  • Added wood chips, laminated bean and pulp bales to definitions and commodity listing
  • Added new table with wood chips and pulp bales B-train configuration

Chapter 5: Vehicle Guidelines and Permits

  • Added definition for “fixed equipment”
  • New wording in 5.3.4.D clarifying Overall Vehicle Length allowances to long-wheelbase configurations
  • New routing information for Highways 16 and 37
  • Diagrams reworked to improve clarity for: Concrete Pumper Trucks (5.3.2.A), Service Rigs (5.3.8F), and Picker Truck Tractors with Semi-Trailers (5.3.9)

Chapter 6: Heavy Haul and Extraordinary Load Guidelines

  • New routing information for the Braseey Creek Bridge and Taylor Bridge
  • Changed Equivalent Single-Axle Loadings from 10% to 5%

Chapter 7: Letters of Authorization

  • Removed wood chips to Chapter 4.5
  • Deleted Letter of Authorization application forms for wood chip configurations

Chapter 8: Miscellaneous Information

  • Updated Weigh2GoBC information
