Reminder: No Dash Cams Allowed at Border Crossings
US Customs and Border Protection is reminding everyone who crosses the US - Canadian border that any type of photographs or video recordings of CBP personnel performing job functions is prohibited in accordance with policy 41 CFR 102-74.420.
The Canadian Trucking Alliance reports there has been attention on this issue recently as an increasing number of carriers are equipping trucks with dash cams in the interest of safety. Carriers are reminded to advise their cross border drivers to turn off dash cams before pulling up to the primary inspection booth at the border.
The cameras can be turned on again once the driver has safely cleared both primary and secondary processing.
