Free BCTA Workshop Helping Owner-Operators Succeed at Drayage Trucking in Metro Vancouver
On February 22nd 2014, the BC Trucking Association (BCTA) will be hosting a free workshop on the Owner-Operator Business Toolkit, a resource developed by BCTA and the Asia Pacific Gateway Skills Table. The workshop runs from 9am to 12PM and is intended to help owner-operators within the Port Metro Vancouver area develop successful businesses.
At this workshop, you can expect to learn about day-to-day business practices such as:
- Tracking & managing costs (including calculating costs per km & leasing vs. buying a vehicle)
- Accounting & bookkeeping
- Maximizing profits
Attendees of the workshop can expect a print copy of the Toolkit, a binder of workshop materials, a USB stick uploaded with electronic resources and a zippered heavy-duty plastic receipt pouch.
Should You attend?
If you are an owner-operator who recently received your Joint Temporary Permit with a dray company from Port Metro Vancouver, or are an owner-operator in the Port Metro area, you are encouraged to attend.
If a family member or partner does your bookkeeping, please invite them. Attendees are limited to ONE guest.
A Punjabi interpreter will be available at the workshop. A light breakfast will also be provided.
